HR Consulting in Nigeria for Organisations Building Better Workplaces

Stanley & Akatu HR Partners Africa is an HR consulting firm based in Lagos, Nigeria. We work with organisations that need their people practices to hold up under scrutiny, from culture and reward through to compliance and recruitment.

Our work covers culture transformation, job architecture and pay progression, HR advisory and compliance, recruitment, and HR policy development.

What we do

Culture transformation for organisations where values on the wall no longer match behaviour in the business. Our ACTIVATE approach diagnoses the behaviour that is actually rewarded, then changes the systems that reward it.

Job architecture and pay progression, so roles, grades and salary structures in Nigeria are defensible and consistent. Our MERIT approach builds levels, role families and pay ranges in NGN that survive both a pay review and a difficult conversation.

HR advisory and compliance covering the Labour Act, the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, PenCom, NSITF and ITF obligations, delivered as audits, retained advisory or project support.

Recruitment support for organisations hiring in Lagos and across Nigeria, from single specialist appointments to executive search and structured hiring programmes.

HR policy development that produces employee handbooks and procedures line managers can actually apply, with the templates and briefing that make them stick.

Why organisations in Nigeria come to us

Most of the problems we are asked to solve are not HR problems in isolation. Attrition among mid-level professionals, pay decisions that cannot be explained, a handbook nobody follows and vacancies that will not close are usually symptoms of the same thing: people systems that were built for a smaller, simpler organisation and were never rebuilt.

We work through the underlying structure rather than the symptom. That means looking at how roles are defined, how pay is set, how managers make decisions and how those decisions are recorded, and then fixing the parts that carry the most risk or the most cost first.

Every recommendation is sized against what your organisation can realistically absorb. A plan that requires a function you do not have is not a plan.

How we work

Engagements begin with a scoping conversation at no cost, so both sides can judge whether the work is worth doing. What follows is a written scope with deliverables, timelines and a fee in NGN, and a named consultant who stays with the engagement through to handover.

We work with organisations of very different sizes, from founder-led businesses making their first structured HR investment through to established groups operating across several Nigerian states.
